During a recent trip to the USS Alabama, we had the opportunity to step aboard one of the popular museum ships in the United States (see image above). Anchored at the Battleship Memorial Park, this ship provides an up-close look at the engineering and daily life during the World War II era.

The self-guided tour was incredibly immersive. You can explore nearly every corner–crew quarters, engine rooms, radar and communication spaces, and more. Each area is filled with stories and artifacts that paint a vivid picture of life at sea for the sailors who served on board.

Beyond the battleship itself, the park includes the USS Drum, a WWII submarine, along with aircraft tanks and more.
